Tipping

Hi everyone, I have a clarification question regarding the rules about tipping. In 18.2.5.5., it says a travel infraction occurs if a player intentionally bobbles, fumbles or delays the disc to themselves, for the sole purpose of moving in a specific direction. In the annotations 18.12, it says if they tip the disc solely in order to assist themselves to catch a disc that they otherwise would not have been able to gain possession of, that is not a travel. The situation was that a low pass went to a receiver, and instead of catching it with their hands near the ground, they opted to kick the bottom of the disc so that would fly higher and could be subsequently caught. Because the purpose of the tipping in this scenario was to assist themselves to catch a disc that they otherwise would not have been able to gain possession of, rather than to move in a specific direction, it is not a travel. However, the rules don’t specify what the correct outcome should be. Since it’s not a travel, is it a legal catch? Or, since the disc would not otherwise have been caught, is it a turnover?

Since the rules don’t specify anything, it’s allowed and this is not a turnover.
