Receiving fouls when it is unclear the disc was catchable

    Location: Endzone

Situation: The disc is in the air, a defensive player make a contact foul on the offensive player, for this reason the offensive player cannot catch the disc, and he claims that if the foul didn’t occurs, he could have caught the disc.

Question: Can this be considered as a Goal?

It’s not a goal since the foul isn’t a strip.

However, per 17.2.2 it’s a valid foul and the offensive player gains possession of the disc, unless the opponent contests the call, e.g. using 16.3 if she/he believes the offensive player would have not had the disc even if the foul had not occurred.
