Kind of a silly set of questions, but couldn’t really clarify it reading through the rules just now.
5.1. Each team will put a maximum of seven (7) players and a minimum of five (5) players on the field during each point.
19.1.5. If the injured player leaves the field, the opposing team may also choose to substitute one player.
The first doubt was whether there’s any requirement for team A to substitute a player of the same gender as the player taking and injury sub on team B. Seems like probably not, so if team A subs an injured guy, team B can counter by giving a tired girl a break (maintaining the same gender ratio).
Similarly, in a marathon point, two mixed teams are playing with 3 guys and 4 girls. Team A sees two girls injured over the course of several possessions. The first sub is by the book, but for the second sub, team A doesn’t have any more girls on the sideline to replace the injured lady. Several questions arise in this situation:
- Since there are four girls, could team A sub their injured girl with a guy (changing from 3/4 to 4/3) knowing that the other team could match this change? Would who was possession of the disc matter? If not, would both captains agreeing to this situation make it valid?
- If team A has no more girls to replace their injured girl, I assume they would have to finish the point with 6 players. (And, assuming the girls couldn’t return later in the game due to their injuries, play all 4-girl points with only 6 players). However, if team A doesn’t/can’t substitute anyone for the injured player coming off the field, would team B still have the option to sub a player?
Thanks!
EDIT: Just realized there was a dropdown to choose the forum I was posting to  , could you move this to interpretations?

However, depending on the level of play, if limited substitute players was an issue, it could be reasonable for teams to agree to adjust the ratio.
2. If Team A has a player leave the field due to injury, but no player replaces them, Team B can still make a substitution (see rule 19.1.5)
