ParticipantThe hand signal for “foul” is also used for the calls “dangerous play” and “strip”. This can be confusing or unclear for other players on the field or the sideline or spectators & commentators in streams. In the endzone, the calls “foul” and “strip” also have other consequences. Therefore, it would be helpful if the different calls also had different hand signals.

ParticipantI agree! Too often, when playing or game advising, I see a foul signal and then get confused about the outcome because it’s not always clear what type of foul it is. There are many different types of fouls, but I believe “strip” and “dangerous play” would benefit the most from having their own or additional hand signals.
For “strip,” we could use an open hand with the other hand brushing it (like the gesture for throwing money). Alternatively, if we prefer less movement, a fist-and-palm gesture could be used.
For “dangerous play,” we could have the arms in front of the player’s chest in the shape of an X, with closed hands.
I feel these would be easy for both players and game advisors to learn and follow.

ParticipantI don’t understand (except for commentators) why we need more hand signals. People are currently not using the ones we have consistently. Having more might actually lead to even more confusion.
Additionally, all accepted receiving fouls have the same result. Except for an accepted strip call in the end zone (goal) and accepted offensive receiving foul (turnover). Both however can be clearly communicated by the hand signals for accepted foul followed by “goal” or “turnover” respectively.
