Clarification on the check

We’ve had a discussion regarding continuing play after an uncontested stallout.

I believe that because of the interpretation s of 13.2.2, the disc first gets transferred to the player calling the stallout and he can either let his marker check it or put it down and check it himself.

My friend thinks that 10.5.2 means the new deffender must check the disc instead.

If the disc is put on the ground after an uncontested stallout, who should check it in? What’s the procedure here?

Unfortunately the way the Annotation is written is a bit confusing. We will aim to fix that.

Let’s use Team A and Team B instead of offence and defence.

The thrower from Team A is called for an uncontested stall out.
    Play stops.
The player who was marking from Team B does not want to take possession.
The player from Team A puts the disc on the ground.
After checking that everyone is ready, the player from Team A calls “Disc In”.

Just a quick follow-up: if the player from team B wants to take possession, does the team A player give him the disc directly and checks it in his hand? Or do you still need to check the disc on the ground?

The team A player gives him the disc directly and checks it in his hand (after making sure everyone else is ready to start play).
