“Everyone go back to where you were and stand still” after a pick, foul, injury, timeout etc. takes so much time out of the game, as well as the inevitable calls of “violation” when someone moves accidentally on the restart. And it looks/feels a bit ridiculous compared with other sports, like we’re playing musical statues.

I acknowledge this is a major change and would need some figuring out and significant testing. But perhaps the rules committee could think about it or trialling some variations.
