Hi,
Regarding SOTG item 4-Positive attitude, self-control, and item 5-Communication, I’m not sure about the difference between them, I will explain with an example of the reason why is no clear.
Or maybe there is something here that could be improved.
Example:
Poor score in self-control states that:
– Players and/or their sideline were often rude and discourteous towards opponents, their own teammates, officials, volunteers, organizers, and/or spectators.
– Players and/or sideline sometimes exhibited a lack of self-control and positive attitude towards opponents, their own teammates, officials, volunteers, organizers, and/or spectators.Poor score in Communication states that:
– They got angry/reacted with contempt at several calls/contests.
– They frequently used offensive language.
– They frequently refused to discuss issues/callsThen,
1- Are the items (Rules, body contact, fairmindedness, self-control, communication) in the spirit table independent from each other?, I mean, what affects your score in one item shouldn’t affect your score in other?.
2- Someone who got angry(Item: Communication) how is that independent from lack of self-control / positive attitude (item: positive attitude)?
3- How is the offensive language(item: Communication) different from being rude(item: Positive attitude)?
4- How someone who refuses to discuss calls(Item: communication) can have a positive attitude (Item> positive attitude)? So,
-Are we penalizing a team in both items when something like that happens? or just in one of them? which one?
-So, from my point of view would try to define well those two items (Communication and positive attitude) in other to make them independent from each other or I would open another item to the list of SOTG.Regards!
