8.6.2, 10.4.1 – Delay of Game

Do the delay of game rules apply to delay of pull? I’ve been in cases where the other team after a goal try to kill the clock so our chance of scoring is less likely. If the delay of game rule doesn’t apply, I would definitely suggest it should be.

There is no delay of game call for the pull.
However rule 7.1.1. says: “Teams must prepare for the pull without unreasonable delay.”

And the interpretation for that section says: “As a guide, the pull should be released within 75 seconds of the start of the point (which starts at the start of a half, or when the previous goal was scored).”

If teams fail to comply with this then this is something that team captains should discuss.

There are specific penalties in the Appendix regarding time limits during the pull, but these would only apply if the league/tournament specified that the WFDF Appendix applies (and there were timekeepers for the game.
