Just continuing the discussion JB and I were having privately because I’m interested. In the situation where the cup player is attempting to block a pass from the thrower – and as such the unanticipated contact is affecting the play, I would have thought that 12.8 & 12.9 would supercede. In the situation in question the cup player was not aware of the incoming cutter and thus not intentionally trying to obstruct them, but attempting to make a play.
