9.5 Stall count after a Pick call

I’m not sure why you think it should be “Stalling 7” according to 9.6.

9.6 says:

To restart a stall count “at maximum n”, where “n” is a number between one (1) and nine (9), means to announce “stalling” followed by the count at one more than the last number uttered prior to the stoppage, or by “n” if that value is greater than “n”.

If the stall count is at 8, and an uncontested Pick is called, then 9.5.4 applies:

After all other calls the stall count restarts at maximum six (6).

According to 9.6, one count more that the last number uttered would be “stalling 9”, but 9 is greater than 6, so the stall count should come in on “stalling 6”.
