Sorry for any confusion. This is referring to the location after the tipping occurs and whether or not this can be more of an advantage for the defense, compared to just touching it.
Example A:
A defender touches the disc outside of the playing field and then the disc lands out-of-bounds.
Result: The pivot point would be the nearest point on the central zone to where it was touched.
Example B:
A defender touches the disc outside of the playing field and then the disc lands in-bounds (and stays in-bounds).
Result: The pivot point would be where the disc stopped.
Example C:
A defender touches the disc outside of the playing field multiple times and then the disc lands out-of-bounds.
Result: The pivot point would be the nearest point on the central zone to where it was last touched.
Example D:
A defender touches the disc outside of the playing field multiple times and then catches the disc in-bounds.
Result: The pivot point would be where they caught the disc.
